This thread also inspired me to get mine out. I’d (nearly) forgotten how much I love it.

Having an Explorer 2 is great, but having 2 is better.

Creme Dial (Full set) - non hyphen and a Black Rail dial

I also noticed that the cheapest polar with box and papers is now the exact same price as the cheapest sub on watchfinder. Never did I expect the polar to command similar prices as subs.

Would you consider selling the white dial?

Been wearing mine all week. One of my favourite watches. Glad I bought it when I did and not surprised their value is rising.

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

About 7/8 years. I bought them when they were cheap plus I have always had a thing for transitional Rolex.

Everyone thinks they're about to be discontinued hence the creeping up of prices.

Sorry, it’s part of a set. You can find sometimes find nice 16550/16570 Polar dials on evil bay for about £500 or try the VRF.

Used to see loads in AD windows and am now after one as a daily wear but these seem to have gone just like the rest of the sports models!

I was never a fan of the smaller cased versions but bought a larger one with black dial as soon as they were available.

It’s always struck me that they were an underrated piece.

As for the value, aside from the first few months after launch where there was a spike in value, until very recently it’s always been worth less than I paid for it. It’s never bothered me that the value hasn’t increased but the one thing that grates is not buying a 16610LV when I could afford one.
