Hard to say anything really as there is not much to see from the photos.
Did we comment on this? A one off IWC but the devil is in the details. Not a fan of blackout type watches but this has something of the night about it.

You can see that the bracelet doesn’t fit.
Not for me. The only thing visible on it is the time, year and moon phase. The rest of the complications are lost. I doubt he wears it with the right time anyways, more of a marketing/publicity thing.
A watch that tells the time matters as well, could benefit from some visible hour markers.
A good sentiment, but an ugly watch.

Black watches matter.

Am I the only one who finds this sort of tokenism really tasteless? Not verging into politics because I think it applies whatever you think of the matter?
I spotted this watch on his wrist last weekend. Bloody 'orrible.
The 2020 advertisement states
Hamilton’s Big Pilot was a one-off piece made by IWC to reflect the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, which Hamilton has been a vocal supporter.
I wonder what the IWC 1939 advert states regarding Black Lives Matter.
This quote is from an auction house site.
In 1935, with the storm clouds of war gathering over Europe, Adolf Hitler announced his plans to reconstitute Germany’s Air Force and officially created the Luftwaffe.
The German Air Ministry (Reichs-Luftfahrtministerium), who were responsible for aircraft production, began to design a suitable timepiece for its bomber navigators.
Pilots required extremely accurate watches for navigational purposes. The watches needed to be precise, robust and easily read. This led to the iconic B-Uhr design being conceived.
Glad to see IWC supporting the right cause this time.
Yes - one of six brands. But it still doesn't sit right with me.
The company name is not the problem, it's the source of the design.
A bit like buying a Fred & Rosemary West designed garden spade to promote a childrens gardening project - that would be really sick and in bad taste.
Same as BLM being promoted via the Big Pilot watch.
Surely IWC have a bigger product range available they can choose from.
I am not a fan of the watch, I always like legibility, so blackout watches never do it for me.
But some of the bile and vitriol in those comments make me wince.
There are some very unpleasant folks out there.
