I have a golden faced Seiko Pogue 6139-6002 for many years that was passed on to me from a relative. The watch is missing its crown and one of the pushers is sticky but otherwise the watch is cosmetically in good shape.
Id like to see if I could get this back running and start wearing it. I used to think its bright colors were too extroverted but it has grown on me of late and we don't have many family artefacts.
I'm not sure how much a repair with overhaul/service would cost on a 1970s Seiko ? Would £250 sound reasonable ?
Could I ask 2 questions;
1 - What do people think the work would cost approximately ?
2 - Are there any recommendations for repair & service of these models ?

Brendans done a few for me, I’d be surprised if it could be done that cheaply tho
If Duncan is busy Simon Wilkinson/SirAlan is also ace with the 6139s.
Can I ask how this process normally works please ?
Do you send the watch, pay labour for investigation and get a quote for works ? Or would the guys quote first before anything is posted ?
Thanks for any input...
You say it is missing the crown, the 6139-600X OEM crowns are getting hard to come by but some are using after market ones, is the gear and spring still on the stem ?

Great link thanks... those prices are in the parish for where I want to be so I'm feeling positive about that.
Yes, I have the spring and the gear from the crown, they sort of fell into my hand last week when I was looking at the watch head a bit closer.
I was looking at the crown shaft and it must be less than 0.7mm diameter. I assume these crown shafts shearing off is a common failure mode...
Who cares ??
I might look good in a dress heh heh !
