Great photo... but the minute hand looks way too long, and the hour hand way too short...

  4. #4
Beautifully proportioned - just like the original - is it 36mm?

Very Very nice; just have fingers crossed for succeeding in the mad scramble for one of these when they become available.

Didn’t know it was a copy-watch; I meant they just simply look wrongly proportioned (even on that vintage one posted above, to me at least).

Will have been designed for clarity; trying to read instruments in poor or zero light conditions was not easy in the older aircraft types, noisy and lots of vibration too.

Ex BBMF fitter so I know from experience.

I was going to say its very much like an IWC, i think Ronnie O`Sullivan wears one like that playing Snooker these days

    Just got the camera out

Looks a stunner and the strap suits it really well, if it was 38mm or above I would have ordered one.

Difficult to tell from the photos but is the crystal more flush fitting/lower profile than on the current PRS-29a?

exactly with a purpose,it was done after people said they got the 2 hands mixed up in low light.

    Indeed.
Those in the RAF do have a history of struggling to tell-the-time. ;-)

Truly a looker. Make the hour hand slightly longer and this is a winner in my books

Being ex-RAF I am still struggling to tell-the-time and this looks like the perfect solution!

That is a fine looking watch Eddie.

Need to keep my Sundays clear for the foreseeable future.

    Looks nice.

On the IWC, the 5 minute markers look thicker/more pronounced , which seems to add to visual effect.

I struggle to tell the time too, so I can't wait to use this how it was meant to be used. Just have to decide on which dial, now!

I know what you mean, it makes it look distinct with the two different line weights

Bloody lovely, and the only watch I have the intention of buying in the foreseeable future (save for the U50 that’s a month away). Can’t wait.

There hasn't been anybody in all these decades to offer such a faithful reproduction of the Mk11.
    Hats off, Eddie!
Wish I could, but with my earnings ...

    The hands were long and
narrow. But the original dial proved to be
difficult to read under unfavourable light
conditions, so in 1952 the design was
    changed “to improve clarity of
presentation” to the dial known today: the
luminous triangle at 12 o’clock replaced
the figure ‘12’ and a shorter, thicker, hour
    hand was introduced.

Thanks Eddie, I was ignorant of the history and presumed at first sight that it was a watch you’d designed yourself.

Despite my misgivings about the hands, it is amply evident that you’ve built this to the highest quality.

It looks perfect. I hope this time I will not suffer an unexpected and infuriating Internet failure during the payment process, that prevented me from getting a PRS-25 last time. When the connection was back a mere few minutes later all the stock was gone.

The more I look at this watch the more convinced I am this this could be The One.
