    Three hand mecha-quartz watches

Although I know that not everyone enjoys a quartz watch, I do. Over the past few months I have found myself reaching for quartz watches more often than my mechanical. That includes everything from my Seiko 7a38 chronograph, through to a cheap and cheerful vintage inspired rotary dive watch.

The mecha-quartz chronographs get aot of coverage but I see far less about the time only variants. I know Seiko make a few such as the vh31 and vh65. I am intrigued to know if other manufacturers make movements like this. Also if anyone has any time only mecha-quartz or high beat rate quartz watches please do post a picture as I would like to see what offerings are out there.

Wolbrook make a version of their retro-inspired Skindiver which uses a three-hander Mecaquartz. A few seem to have found their way to forum members.

I too find something like the mecaquartz interesting, but the most common use does seem to be in chronographs.

The reason for using meca-quartz it is generally for giving you smooth and mechanical chrono function. If you are looking for ticking seconds in three handed quartz... the 8 and 16 beats per second Precisionists will do just that, and will look better that the meca-quartz.

Very true however unfortunately these often seem to be quite large in diameter. More than my 6.5 inch wrist can manage
