    Smiths Everest

hi, bought this last year, but am unsure of the crown, is it the original?

    Nope.

Irc these have a unique (?) crown that sits in the recess. (I suspect that's because the used the same case for the automatic which -- in theory! -- doesn't require winding and setting.)

You might not find a right one but you could surely find a better one than that!

I own an example of this exact model. The crown on yours is wrong. The serrations on the crown should reach the full width. The outside face of the crown should be very slightly domed. As Rev o says there is a tiny recess in the case to accommodate the crown.
