As requested, a couple of pics of my Hanhart 417 "Rake" , With the Bronze oxidising nicely. I've owned it about a month, done nothing to accelerate the process, so I reckon will be done by Christmas compare the colour to my photos in post 24,above.

It’s nice to see some Hanhart love. Underestimated in my book.

    One of the first.

Thank you - it seems to be turning a richer, warmer colour. It'll be interesting to see how it looks in a few weeks.

Damn, I’m liking the colour and absence of a date feature. I already have a pair of Hanhart chronos in my three watch collection. Even so....

I've noticed when I cancelled my order (because delivery date was end Dec) they withheld 10% when they refunded me. Policy apparently.

Personally I find this out of order and I won't be spending a penny on this brand or recommending them in future.

Wasn’t it clearly mentioned (in their terms or elsewhere) when you ordered?

Nope and in any case they were in German. Regardless I could understand this policy if there was a 'restocking fee' but in this case my watch was weeks away from being dispatched and they had an order list a mile long it just would have bumped up the next person. So on that basis I'd not want to deal with a company that views this approach as ethical - despite the fact the watches are lovely

Did they tell you it was their policy to withhold 10% ? I ordered and cancelled as well , got back less than I paid but assumed it was down to PayPal and their rip off currency conversions ( as both paid and had sent back the same amount in Euros )

@ryanb741 that's definitely not nice what they did. However I still think they did it automatically without considering all aspects (such as the watch was not dispatched yet), so I would suggest to drop them an email and explain them your concerns and I am sure, they will refund you.

    New Hanhart 417 ES - a Lesson in re-issues

@Rysn - Even if you decide not to keep an order they refund all bar shipping costs, so I don’t understand this 10% clause.

If there’s something I’ve missed you transfer the purchase to someone else and thereby avoid this? When did they say your receive it? Website today says from May 2021.

+1. And paypal’s new policy now does not compensate the merchant for the charged fees when they are refunding. So they would be 4% worse in any case if they return the full amount...
So if Ryan paid by paypal it is worth comaidering

Exactly , mine cost €1744 , which worked out £1629 ( at £1 = €1.07 ) , Hanhart refunded me €1744 which PayPal gave me back as £1555 (€1 = £0.89) so it’s PayPal who are the robbing ba**ards here . Certainly make me think twice about buying anything not in £ using PayPal again.
