    TAG Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5

    Hey All,

    Hope everyone's well.

So, my last thread was about getting a better fit with my Longines Hydroconquest Ceramic bezel auto (41mm). Well, I admitted defeat and made peace with the fact that the watch was just too big for me. That 50.5mm lug-to-lug was just not comfortable on my 6.3 inch wrist. So I've since sold it but it was my only black dial diver so I do want to get something to replace, as I love a diver with a black dial.

I've always quite liked the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5 with steel bezel in 41mm (it has a much shorter lug-to-lug than my old Hydroconquest). It was actually going to be the watch I wanted to get before I was tempted with a really good deal for the Longines.

    It's this one: https://www.tagheuer.com/gb/en/timep...10.BA0928.html

Would love to hear from anyone who's got or had one and how they got on with it. How would you compare the quality of the fit and finish with the Hydroconquest? Also, would this watch have an ETA or a Sellita movement and is there any meaningful difference?

    Thanks guys!

Hi mate, I’ve literally just posted a threads reviewing my Aqua Racer And questioning the TAG hate.

The short version is the AR is a fantastic watch for the money.

Rather than repeat myself I’ll link the article here

I just pulled the trigger on the 43mm ceramic bezel version of this watch.

I love the grooved face and the yellow and black on the dial.

    Should be arriving Monday...

    ...Can't wait =)

No problem mate, depending on your wrist size I’d look at the 41mm, the proportions are spot.

It’s quite interesting to see the amount of early Tags being traded . From loathing to ridicule to acceptance
I’ve always liked them and think the very thing people knock them for, in being fashion led Brand actually gives them a place fixed in an era . Omega and Zenith don’t get knocked for similar fashion led period watches from the 70’s. But maybe 20 years ago they did ?
If I had spare cash I’d have a 1000 series Tag or a modern Aqua Racer
Should add my Wife adores her Tag , more robust than the pretty Longines and a touch more blingy than the duller Aqua Terra

How are you finding it? :)

I just pulled the trigger on the 41mm black dial calibre 5 with steel bezel. My AD is ordering a fresh one from Tag so it should be here in the next 2/3 weeks hopefully and I can’t wait either!

This is my 43mm white dial. Lovely watch, very versatile and great build quality. Design harkens back to the Heuer days in the 80s.

I think Tag Heuer lost their way a bit for a while but are on a bit of a resurgence at the moment.

I have one aquaracer calibre 5 way2110, like the one in this picture.

I have to said that is a fantastic watch. The Tag 41 is perfect for any wrist size.
