    Swiss Time Services (STS) Discount.

    Hi all.

Iím about to send off my speedmaster to STS in Essex for a service and refurbishment.

Do these guys offer discounts for forum members?

They a good outfit? Reviews seem good. Anyone have experience with them?

Just thought it might be worth asking about forum discount, if any?

    Cheers.

No discounts that I'm aware of; in fact, I believe their pricing is based on/dictated by Omega (or at least used to be).

I had my PO returned from Genesis watchmaking at the end of August after a full service and case refurbishment.
Duncan did a realy good refurb' job on the case and bracelet. It came back looking like new.
The movement was running about +10spd when I sent it but since the 1st September on average has been running at about +0.4spd.
    Great communication throughout the process.

I canít comment on the availability of discount but I have used STS three times including a Ď68 Seamaster and a modern SMPc and I have found the communication, turnaround time, price and quality of the work undertaken to be superb. The watches were retuned in Omega service pods with an Omega warranty card. I have no affiliation with the company but would certainly recommend them.

Thatís reassuring to know. Thank you. They sent you an Omega warranty card too? Are they a part of omega then?

I was going to send my watch to omega but they were another £350 more expensive than STS.

    "Forum discount?

Which forum? Oh, TZ-UK. That will be 20% extra, Sir"...
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

I don't understand the price difference - STS is an accredited Omega service centre and as such their pricing (at least used to) mirrored that of Omega...but if STS is cheaper, so much the better :)

Donít know, thatís their price for a mechanical chronograph 25-50 years old! Doesnít need servicing at the moment but Iíve no history so Iím sure it will do at some point!

Ah yes. The age bumps the price up unfortunately.

It was a while back but he gave my Speedmaster a light polish.

The other one Iíve recently used is Sean Yates at About Time who provided excellent service and comms!

Day 1. Posted RMSD to STS

Day 2. Email from STS confirming the arrival of my watch.

Day 5. Email from STS with a condition report and estimate. I have asked them to proceed.

Watch will be returned via post (£15) within 6 weeks.

I'd definitely recommend Simon Freese. I suspect he'd service a Speedy for a lot less than £650 and he does case finishing too. He's busy so don't expect instant responses and a super fast turnaround but he's busy for good reason!

Thanks for the info. Will bare him in mind for next time.

The price I have to pay with STS for a 2010 omega Speedmaster is £475 including refinishing - the watch is the full 18K gold edition so not a bad price considering omega want £850.

You're in very good hands with STS.
