Hi all.
I’m about to send off my speedmaster to STS in Essex for a service and refurbishment.
Do these guys offer discounts for forum members?
They a good outfit? Reviews seem good. Anyone have experience with them?
Just thought it might be worth asking about forum discount, if any?
Cheers.

I had my PO returned from Genesis watchmaking at the end of August after a full service and case refurbishment.
Duncan did a realy good refurb' job on the case and bracelet. It came back looking like new.
The movement was running about +10spd when I sent it but since the 1st September on average has been running at about +0.4spd.
Great communication throughout the process.
I can’t comment on the availability of discount but I have used STS three times including a ‘68 Seamaster and a modern SMPc and I have found the communication, turnaround time, price and quality of the work undertaken to be superb. The watches were retuned in Omega service pods with an Omega warranty card. I have no affiliation with the company but would certainly recommend them.
STS is the medical abbreviation for syphilis
"Forum discount?
Which forum? Oh, TZ-UK. That will be 20% extra, Sir"...
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
I have sent them my watch. So far so good. Great comms so far. They confirmed it arrived. They will send me an estimate within 5 days.
Will update this thread accordingly if anyone is interested.

Try Duncan at Genesis Watchmaking.
I have no affiliation with this company however excellant service should be rewarded.
It was a while back but he gave my Speedmaster a light polish.
The other one I’ve recently used is Sean Yates at About Time who provided excellent service and comms!
I'd definitely recommend Simon Freese. I suspect he'd service a Speedy for a lot less than £650 and he does case finishing too. He's busy so don't expect instant responses and a super fast turnaround but he's busy for good reason!
Thanks for the info. Will bare him in mind for next time.
The price I have to pay with STS for a 2010 omega Speedmaster is £475 including refinishing - the watch is the full 18K gold edition so not a bad price considering omega want £850.

You're in very good hands with STS.
