So do I, and for the same reason.

The local yeomanry split fifty/fifty between Dacia Dusters and Isuzu pickups. They’ve long since given up on expensively fragile Land Rovers. If you see one of them it might as well have a neon sign on the roof flashing “WARNING: TOURIST”.

Yes. The Yeti would be ideal for you.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

I’m no farmer though I have shot with many over the years, nevertheless after many many years of owning Defenders, I’ve now bought a pickup and can understand why many have.

Proper versatility, off road capabilities, larger and more practical load space, comfort, powerful, economical-ish, tech, safety and did I mention comfort?

I will always love a Defender, but as for value for money, trust a farmer!

Yes, have done a fair bit myself and mostly the farmers had a mixture of Mitsubishi Shoguns, Range Rovers, various 4x4 crew cab pickups and some old Land Rovers. Gamekeepers tended to have single cab pickup trucks (more room for bird crates) or vans with trailers. The Subaru MV pickups were great in their time, brilliant rough shooters wagons!
I wouldn’t want an older Defender, just too basic.
Be interesting to see how these new ones work out though.

Interesting fact. Of the many options available for the new defender you can choose between 3 different front seat configurations. Driver/passenger with centre cubby, or middle jump seat or a “walk through” option (ie a gap). I imagine the latter would be useful in some off-road situations or more likely to get to kids in the back.

Depends what you want to convert to. It’s easy to choose the front centre seat if you only need to carry two plus a little one occasionally, not sure how easy it is to add second or third row seats to a van body though. The aftermarket people have really caught up so options are more limited at this time.

I think the commercials don’t have air suspension as standard but I believe it is an option.

Just been to see the 90 prototype and the 110 commercial prototype.

Love them. They were a little rough and ready but I really fancy one.

I agree, or at least it’s what the Disco 5 should have been imho.

The one thing it certainly isn't is - a Defender.

This bloke has been doing a running commentary on YouTube and it’s quite high profile. I imagine JLR will be buying this one back, if he will let them............

With 965k subscribers on his You Tube channel he'd probably rather keep the saga going. Must be on a pretty good earner with that many subscribers.

Now there's an angle I hadn't considered, I rather naively just thought that the car was crap.

That article quotes 18 mpg combined. That's pathetic.
There really was no point in ditching the original. Oh dear.

Crap or not, you tube can be a lucrative pastime. Enough subscribers and it's wages type earnings, or more. Paid for by those annoying adverts. Which is fair enough I suppose for those who take the time too make the videos.

I quite like Noraly, a pleasant character and nice videos.

Indeed, looks great with the red top, 2 inch lowered suspension and sawtooth wheels.
    Was that a twisted?

Don’t think it was .... unfortunately was in a rush and didn’t have chance to have a proper look at it. Loved how it was parked in centre of town and full of mud
