    Battery replacement - Movado

I'm trying to replace the battery in my wife's quartz.

I presume this is a snap-off case back, but I'm finding it impossible to get enough purchase on the back to remove it. There seems to be no lip as such to get hold of, and the remover tool that I have is too large to get underneath.

I can get a watchmakers' screwdriver underneath but it's bending the case back.

Do I need a daintier tool? Should I just take it to a battery-changer?

    Ideas?

Are you sure there’s no knifing point? It should be opposite the crown or at either end. Suggest you hold the watch in a thick cloth to avoid cutting fingers if the blade slips. Aim to press the blade into the gap rather than levering, but take precautions against slipping.

If you get it off you might have problems getting it back on without a press.

Looks like I might have to suffer the indignity of taking it to a shop.

They'll probably scratch it, but if I keep on hacking at it myself it's not going to go well anyway.
