Given the inconsistencies throughout and lack of Dewetron backing the data up I’m not sure anyone can say that 300 was done for certain. Only way would be to do the run again under stricter scrutiny with Dewetron and Guinness in attendance.

The frustrating thing is if they’d done it correctly then 300 (or whatever the actual speed was) would still have been a huge deal. As it is nobody cares about the actual speed because the potentially false claims are far bigger news.

Further update and complete hands-up from SSC; have give them credit for taking it on the chin

    Another Shmee150 vid uploaded yesterday.

SSC have stated that they will have another go, using professionally installed equipment, multiple cameras etc etc and have invited Tim over to watch and see it with his own eyes.

Yes it’s the only viable solution. Do a rerun in a brutally scrutinized environment. Having said that it smacks of amateur hour that they didn’t have the equipment set up it calibrated by the company. So many mess ups on the first run - a real shame.

Personally I hope they do 333mph on the rerun

Considering it was allegedly doing around 260mph in the first video I guess they'll not have Fred Flintstone at the wheel this time.

Long video. But since we're in lockdown, I suppose it's a good way to spend your time. Draw your own conclusion.

So it looks like they did have the goods after all. Not quite at the level it was claimed previously but still bloody impressive !!

Congrats to the team for putting the doubters right in a professional manner

The ‘doubters’ of the original run haven’t been put right, rather been proved right

Indeed, still some way off the original claimed figure.

Non-pro driver for this latest 'run'.

Maybe more to come, but the reputation has a bit of a dent.

Well they were still accelerating when they ran out of runway. Bottom line is it’s the fastest production car ever built. I’m sure they regret the cock ups on the original run but they got it this time and certainly more in the tank.
