    Rolex vs Divex

    Rolex Vs Divex
Having had a chin wag with a Rolex owning mate, I can understand why he's no longer a member of that particular companys fan base.

Picked up from an indie dealer and the guarantee period is over. Worked fine for the first year or so, then it was a crown problem that made him send it to a Rolex specialist to have it fixed and fully serviced. On return the watch was working well and running a second or so slow per day. Before the crown issue it was gaining a second a day.

About six months after the first fix the timing throws a wobbly and has to be sent for another tune up. It's now losing four seconds per day. Not a happy bunny after having spent a considerable sum on his dream watch.

On a positive note my Divex quartz is keeping great time and the lume is bright. Have a happy & scary halloween. Don't let the watch dealers bite.

Maybe he should sent it to Rolex instead of a “specialist” and been more carful where he bought it?

Congrats on the top lume btw much better than Rolex

An average daily rate of -4 seconds is pretty good for a mechanical watch. It's within COSC parameters in fact.

Comparing any quartz watch, however cheap, to a mechanical watch, in terms of accuracy, is just silly.

To suggest that a Divex is a "better" watch than a Rolex is ridiculous.

Unless your point is just that you can get a reliable, well specced quartz dive watch that will do the job of telling the time (under water if required) much better than even the most expensive Swiss luxury mechanical timepieces, in which case, literally everyone knows that, and it's entirely besides the point as far as most watch collectors are concerned.

I'm not a Rolex guy btw. The most expensive watch I own cost less than £500.

    You're probably trolling anyway.

What is the name of the Rolex specialist who serviced the watch? A full service would come with a guarantee so just get your friend to send it back to them

Sounds like your mate might have been better buying a Bluetooth connected G-Shock.

It would seem that Rolex is much more than simply telling you what time it is - I’’’’ll get my coat!
