Please note it’s USA Milton, not the one from TZ
Looks like there’s some controversy, I don’t know enough to comment either way but if it is fake it’s a good copy

Surprising, as I’d always understood them as one on the experts in vintage world stateside - when Perezcope and his followers break down the tells in the comments, they mount up to quite a few that I hope would raise red flags to an experienced dealer.
The kicker is that after he’s contacted HQMilton twice to warn them that the watch was a fake, they didn’t remove it from sale but proceeded to reduce the price. Not good.

There’s no way to view this without signing up for an instagram account; any chance of a screen shot?
I find it hard to believe (impossible) that Heywood wouldn’t recognise / sell a fake. Does he have a branch in America? Sorry, all a bit confused from the OP!
Absolutely nothing to do with Hayward Milton from TZ UK. Nothing at all.
This link will work for you.

hqmilton have since said the below.

"Not 100% correct" is one way of putting it. Imagine Pizza Hut putting out a statement that their meat feast pizza was "not 100% vegetarian". This also doesn't seem to be the first time hqmilton have been caught in this type of behaviour. After being contacted by Jose and told it was fake with evidence they reduced the price by 1.7%.
Jose is very well regarded in the watch world and features on websites often for expertise in the vintage field.

For the last link search the page for "Perez" and it will take you to the correction hodinkee make based off Jose's findings.
Indeed, HQ Milton was never anything to do with me or any of my companies, nor indeed any of my extended family or their companies.
It was always a frustration that HQM chose to name their business thus.
H
NOT anything to do with HAywood Milton!!
HQ Milton are a well known Rolex specialist in the US and have no relationship, and shouldn’t be confused with, any similarly known watch dealers on the UK.

Exactly, nothing to do with our Mr Haywood Milton. This is the San Francisco-based outlet HQ Milton, established by Scott Kaplan and Jacek Kozubek. The latter moved on a few years ago and now trades separately.

I thought HQ Milton US was a highly regarded trusted dealer, scary, especially surprised at initial non response, unacceptable.
Can anyone explain what the tell tale signs are. I can't see any difference in the pictures.
The HQMilton in question has taken the watch down now. Apparently it was in on consignment. They've published a lengthy apology on their own Instagram page.
Interesting then if the auction house would be liable for the initial selling of it as genuine.

Not just fake movement, other fake parts spotted also...
