Interesting - I didn't receive such a written estimate for my 16600 service the month after yours. But mine is not vintage and I also went through my AD.

P.S. One wouldn't expect Rolex to misspell "lume".

    That's interesting
They wouldn't service my 1016 explorer last year without changing the hands as they said they couldn't guarantee the stability of the lume.
I said no and the watch was returned.

Good to know they are open at weekends now, previously they were only open Monday to Friday which made it awkward as I don’t work in London.

Ahh... sorry for the confusion, I took mine to the local AD, and they will be forwarding it on.

Exactly my previous point, they are asking double+ to service a vintage watch and then want to remove some of its value by changing hands/dial, this is where respected indy watch servicing comes in, you get a personal service to your requests and talk though the watches problems to solutions.

To me Rolex are far too robotic in their approach to vintage, but hey if you want pressure test to pass and a warrantee from Rolex then go ahead, they'll happily pull your pants down and make sure your worth less after the experience..
