    Doxa colourways

Well, the Doxa display in the AD is nothing if not colourful!

Now that’s the way to do it, plenty of choice, take note Rolex!
    Well probably not really.

Excellent display, Doxa Sub 300 is probably on next years list.

And I thought that I would only ever come across the word colourways on Ideal World...

I wonder how many years it's been since a deck of Doxas was last seen in a watch shop window?

They're really pushing the brand now with new models, advertising and increasing the AD network. Looking good though

I think that a 300T is next on my list.

Just looking at the Doxa range online again. The 300T on the beads of rice bracelet is £1820 vs £1780 on the orange rubber strap.

I’d prefer the rubber strap for the colour but would it be daft to buy it on the rubber when it costs so little extra for the bracelet? Is it possible to buy the orange rubber and clasp from Doxa? I can’t see it online sold separately and unsure of how much it would cost.

For some reason I find it incredibly irritating. First encountered it late last year when watching a YouTube review of a pair of Nike Pegasus runners. And now it seems to be everywhere. It spread as fast as Covid. What was wrong with “colours”.

Every month I'm loving the Doxa look more and more. Must be lockdown fever!

    Love the yellow colourway ;)

    Hahah!

I just thought using it was a more ‘colourful’ way of enhancing an otherwise sparse two-word title! (Groan...)

Anyhoo, it seemed to me underused these days, but it’s perfectly appropriate and dictionary defined as:
‘any of a range of combinations of colours in which a style or design is available’

Its normally been used when there is a fixed pattern with different colour variations. The Doxa's just have different coloured dials.

    Eg:

Using 'colourways' to replace colours seems strange...and a bit American.

The Doxas don’t just have different coloured dials, they also subtly vary the dial and bezel style and design, used on different coloured backgrounds, with modified batons, hands and bezels in different colours in order to complement those backgrounds.

    They do look appetising!

I've fancied an orange dial Doxa for a little while now.

Must be all those Clive Cussler books I read years ago.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Go for it Neil you only live once! I like the chrono T Graph but that dark blue dial 300 or T version really catches my eye every time. Decisions decisions!

I've got my eye on that new carbon case one with black and yellow dial on its own top right in the pic. Very tasty that!

An orange dialled Doxa is a itch I would like to scratch, especially a 300T
If their AD network is expanding I guess I will have to try one one.

Well, that’s exactly where I saw them! They have a fine selection of Sinn also, and a goodly quantity of Grand Seiko sparkling in the windows!

A Sharkhunter T-Graph would do it for me (though I'd likely be on bread and water for a year) - perhaps I'm the only Doxa fan/owner who doesn't like the orange dial!!

It's nice to see such a good range in the window!

I've never owned a Doxa, but I might, someday - they make one with tritium tubes, don't they?

    Angry Rubber ripoff...

I emailed them about getting the rubber alongside the BoR on a Sub200. The BoR cost €50 extra, so I wanted that. How much for the rubber? "Another €250"

FFS, I went elsewhere (hard with 19mm lugs, but €250 is a lot of motivation!)

Warning: Have VERY LOW expectations for the lume on orange. It's pretty much not there at all.

    My post on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/com...very_good_for/

(I still love the watch ;)

Can’t quite understand why the intensity of the lume should be affected by the colour of the dial? Surely in the dark any dial colour isn’t seen, and the lume is prominent? Is it only in half light that the contrast isn’t there?

However, I understand that the lume on the 200 series isn’t great anyway.

Edit: Apologies, I’ve read your Reddit post again and realise you’re referring to the orange lume on the bezel, not the dial batons. My mistake, which makes my reply above nonsense! Ouch!

Thanks for this. Yes, I too thought it strange that the bracelet was closely priced to the rubber strap.

Only seen the post on their Instagram page from a few hours ago and have to say I’m not a massive fan. Nothing on the orange dial 300t!

  28. #28
Bit of a resurrection but I’ve decided on a 300T

What I can’t decide on is a colour.

    Caribbean or aquamarine?

I know some hate this sort of question but heh-ho

For me, Caribbean, it works really well with the orange highlights

Definitely Caribbean for me, had the 200T in Caribbean - lovely colour. Other colour options are very cool but can’t be worn quietly!

Orange for me...but I can’t decide on the beads of rice or orange rubber.
