    Waltham 6/0 B Movement Help

    Hi all,

Wonder if anyone can help me? I have this watch which was my great grandfathers, he worked in the bar in the officers mess in Burton Wood. It was an issued watch belonging to an American serviceman who either didn’t have the funds to pay off his tab or didn’t come back to the base from a mission. His Son in Law (my grandfather) was a skilled watch and clock maker who owned this for years and eventuality gave the watch to my father which he has worn on occasions over the years.
He accidentally dropped it earlier this year and the balance spring seems to have been damaged as you can probably see.
Any recommendations on who could potential repair this for me?

    Many thanks!

Hi I would try one of the known watchmakers on here
    Maybe Webwatchmaker for example?
Waltham parts are still quite easy to get hold of so repairing it should not be too much of an issue.

Does it have USA ORD DEPT marked on the case back?

    Super - thank you!

It did, but my grandfather had (badly) engraved his own name over it.

It’s a lovely little watch, has a lot of sentimental value to us as you can imagine.
