Cyclops is awful and they’ll have alignment issues.

I quite like them, don’t mind the cyclops at all. Alignment...probably just down to the photo, I don’t think anyone cat categorically say there’s alignment issues without handling them.

In my experience, which is considerable, less than 5% are correctly aligned.

I didn’t realise you were Seiko quality control! In my experience, which is less than considerable, but enough for me, 100% have been fine.

Then you’ve been incredibly lucky or not as bothered as I am about alignment. Seiko’s QC is notoriously non-existent.

I’m aware of the minor QC complaints seen in the watch microcosm, but this is where a minority of people choose to focus their energy on negative things...you don’t hear about the thousands upon thousands of people who are quite happy and have zero issues.

Anyway, the purpose of this thread was merely to highlight something new...rather than to focus on negativity.

I like the silver dial, would be better without the cyclops though.

I particularly like the blue variant, very nice!

I’ve had countless Seiko’s and still yet to experience alignment issues.

Depends on the model. The MM200, MM300 and King Turtles are all excellent. The regular Turtles are a dog show and most Sumos aren't great either.

On my Sumo if I line up the top at 12 exactly then the 30 minute is off. Really annoying and more expensive than a King Turtle so doesn't matter sense that the cheaper one has better QC.

The sumo has never been a watch I wanted to try, which is strange as it’s the sort of watch I really like. The grey one looks nice apart from the cyclops. They have sorted out the awful bezel font as well.
With regard to QC / alignment issues, if Seiko can’t get the chapter ring aligned in their press photos (grey dial) what hope have you got as a punter buying one?

Genuine question - what's the alignment issue with the grey one?

Chapter ring at 12 looks to be way out.

    Ah OK. Thanks.

Yep, can see a slight misalignment now. Whilst checking I also spotted the lume plot at 4. If that's as bad as it looks (all the others look ok at the same angle) then I think that would concern me more.
