Hi all,
I'm after some advice on watch insurance. I purchased a Rolex from mapping and Webb recently and my watch is currently covered on the house insurance. Mappin and Webb offered an insurance that covers theft, accidental damage etc and you can take it in for repairs on scratches or damage to the bezel as many times as you want. They quoted around £400 a year - is this a good price or is there some where I can get a better deal with similar cover?
Thanks!
M&S Home insurance has 50k cover for valuables.
Much better value than separate cover.
Presuming that is a new watch I thought the whole reason for changing the bezels to ceramic was so that they were scratchproof?
You already have a 5 year warranty and the WoS group offer an extended 5 years on top of that. Your watch is already covered for loss and theft, so what exactly are you getting for £400 a year?

Wow, almost written for me !
Same as you , just picked up a new SD last weekend from m and P. That takes me to 3 Rolex and the wife’s Omega
I looked at getting. It added to the house insurance but it was starting to be a real issue and non of them filled me with confidence so I went specialist.
A 2015 batman, 2018 date sub and now the Sea Dweller was £370 which I thought was ok.
I’ve been getting more worried about wearing them now with all the stories of having them stolen so this settles my mind a little.
TH marsh - been with them for 6-7 years very good.
Only swapped because they changed their policy of gym locker rooms which didn’t work for me anymore (went from insuring theft to not insuring they anymore and I don’t want to be THAT guy working out with his watch....anyways!)
I’m now with Assetsure and they’ve helped me out of a sticky situation recently with great professionalism and hassle free.
I’d suggest dropping them both a call and compare quotes.
Happy hunting!

Sorry guys - but please try the search feature, this topic has been covered quite a few time before.
So I will answer politically, "I refer the right honourable gentleman to my previous answer".
