Check the 'Dealer' address is on the PP website as an approved AD - else tell your friend to offer 50p for the set??
A friend of mine has been in contact with a supposed PP dealer in Dubai. I say supposed as the pictures that have been sent don’t look great, however as the PP is way out of my budget I’m not a good person to comment. I have however give him my thoughts, the first thing that stood out was the date not being central also the model looks different to the original, is this because they do change the models in certain continents? Also the stickers on the crystal?
Your input and knowledge would be most grateful.

Those look awful.
Yeah my thoughts exactly.

good god! dreadful copy. Date in the date window isn't level for starters on the second pic.
Look bit off??
Wouldn't be spending a single pound on those. I've never seen a sticker on the sapphire of a watch apart from eBay fakes, plus the date window issues and how dull the dial and metal look. As Martyn said if your friend really does want to buy a Patek check their website and go to one listed on there.
I’m sure those particular watches are within most people’s budget. £30 a go or so.

Ahmed Seddiqi in the Dubai Mall is the only AD in the UAE listed by Patek.
______
Jim.
One of the tells of a fake Nautilus is where the crown protrudes too far out from the crown guards - comparing these to the ones on the Patek website where the crown is almost flush with the guard, I'd say that these are fugazi's.
The date windows are way too close to the centre of the dials.

That sticker is a dead giveaway.
I’d love to know how much they were quoting him for these shockers. Feels like this is some kind of joke post?
That definitely can’t be who he’s actually communicating with as those details are for the actual AD out there.
I thought it was a wind up as well!
I did spot some comedy gold while I has having a quick look about it

Definitely fake!
The date window is in the wrong place, too close to the centre of the dial. There’s a fair few other indications too.
How much is the dealer asking for them? And is he really dealing with an authorised Patek dealer?
someone is having someone on, they are very poor fakes.
They look exactly like a bagel sport, probably from the same factory.

They must be bad if *I* can spot problems. Some of these have been highlighted above, so I'm just repeating them...
- date window misplaced
- date wheel misaligned
- "PATEK PHILLIPE" and "GENEVE" writing misaligned in relation to dial background
- bezel too heavily "brushed" (Possibly, I'm not sure)
- batons at 12 o'clock should be better aligned and closer together
- crown is wrong - too many notches.
What’s happened to the dial text , have they run out or has it fallen off already........ and what are those numbers all about !

Those are the stickers of the, cough, ‘better” fakes.
Unless you want a fake, run away.
Wes, I honestly think your 'mate' is pulling your leg. Maybe just wanted show off.

If only he'd got there before the recent price increase, he could have saved a £ or two. If he thinks these look legit, he should dive in - prices only heading one way.
Oh dear....
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
I’m a little surprised with this post. If you’re mate is going to drop 20k+ on a Patek surely he would have done some research before?
Also those are highly desirable models with endless waiting lists, so a dealer sending him pictures of three different ones was a bit of a giveaway? Unless he was looking to go to a grey dealer
I would guess your mate is buying fakes and had sent to you pretending they are real, knowing you like watches to see if you notice. It’s strange though, often I see fake Rolex’s of models I own posted on other forums and I can’t tell the difference easily, but this look off straight away.
The briefcase of watches also looks suspect.
Same style is on Alibaba. Also has the sticker on the bottom left of the face. Poor date alignment, bad crown and finish, etc.
Oh boy they are so bad that it must be a windup lol
That is pretty bad!
Looks like its in a crappy standard box too Lol
They look terrible ,finish off and date not even centered
