    Nature in black and white

Nature is often synonymous with colour, but it's actually the form and texture that I find fascinating in photographs (and the light, of course). Anyway, I thought I'd share a few black and white shots on this rainy Sunday - hope you like them.

Happy Fathers day to the dads, too.

I enjoyed those Tony, thanks. Although nature can be very colourful mono is good for isolating the subject from background distractions, and can also enhance detail and shapes very well, IMHO.

Absolutely delicious texture and contrast Tony. Lovely stuff.
The damaged nettle is especially effective.

Like those, colour is good but contrast can be just as effective.

In B&W contrast is so critical, and these photos exemplify that. Nice one Tony

Quick update - this one was taken on an iPhone so I'm not unhappy with it.

Beautiful photos. Are they all taken with an iPhone or just the last one?

Thanks very much, and no - the others were shot on a Sony full frame (a7RII) with a variety of lenses.
