    Omega Speedmaster Silver Snoopy Award

For those waiting for the Omega announcement I've just spotted it on the Omega website already:

    https://www.omegawatches.com/en-gb/w...31032425002001

Very nice indeed. Not cheap though!

Ouch! That's a touch pricy indeed.

    This thread needs the video....

Can't afford it, but if I had the disposable income it would be mine! Love it.

I'd probably knacker the chrono from keep resetting it and watching it over and over.

I like it a lot but at £8,250 it’s nearly twice what I paid for my Ultraman and it’s not even a limited edition (although ‘limited production’ I would suspect)🤔

  5. #5
Not limited but does look nice and has few extra touches

They are available for just over £4K? Where was that from?

I like it. Could be my first Omega!

Would have been nice to have a limited edition to mark 50 years, but I guess as Omega does these days...

Gets my vote, a unique piece. Perhaps it should have been a limited edition, registered.

No lume on the Snoopy or the bezel insert this time round - which is rather disappointing. Some good wrist shots. Apologies if already posted.

Love it, as someone who actually wants to own this watch I for one am pleased it isn’t another “limited edition”

Love it! I just registered an interest. I think the case back animation is so cool!

I see the dial is stamped as Silver.
It's just a matter of time...

For £3000 more you could have a new Ed White. No contest, only one is pure class.
Mind you, in the real world you may struggle to get either.

Probably been said, but how cool is the back of the watch and what it does, worth getting just for that

I was fortunate enough to get one new from Omega when it came out in 2018 - £4,750.

Nice one. I really like them but not enough to pay the asking prices.

Cheers 👍 I wear it a lot of the time so am getting good value from it! All Speedmaster prices seem to be on the rise; are the discounting days coming to an end with these I wonder?

  20. #20
I do like that and it would make a great 50th birthday watch for me, not a limited edition either?

Bloody awful, with a very gimmicky caseback. Terrible. £8250 as well!

Are grown men seriously going to pay a substantial amount of money to wear that monstrosity?

  22. #22
Shame about the price, but it looks very nice to me.

The previous model had a sterling silver enamel scene on the case back - not so sure this one is in silver.
It's just a matter of time...

    Yes.

I'd love one. I wonder how long before any appear second hand.

    Have to say, I agree.

And although Snoopy was occasionally on tv here, no-one watched it; it was very much an American thing, so this watch bears even less meaning to most non-Americans (and I do understand the Snoopy / NASA connection).

It looks like an expensive child’s watch, and 10 years ago this would be a heavily discounted non-seller novelty piece that you’d get murdered on at resale.

Really pleased for those who have paid deposits, reminds me of Speedy Tuesday fever a couple of years back. I will need to sell something first, so have registered my interest on the website. That should put me well and truely behind those who have paid deposits which suits me fine.

Looking forward to seeing some wrist shots when the first ones come out.

Funny how everyone moans about the number of watches that Omega bang out, yet when they do everyone wants one. What a fickle bunch we are

Can’t be long before that upgraded movement appears in the standard moonwatch. That will be rather more interesting.

Yes, I think that will be the one to own, as long as Omega don't price it too highly

How can you not love that case back

I will be fascinated to see how the mechanism works driven by the movement...

  34. #34
Can you imagine the craziness if this was limited to 1970 along with the usual comments of 'yet another LE from Omega' and 'would have been better to release this as standard production run so the real watch enthusiasts can get one and not just the flippers'

I guess you can't win. I personally don't care, I'm buying one because it is awesome

The case back Snoopy in the "module" reminds me of this kind of thing:

    Caseback is a bit mental.

Lovely design though. Great colour scheme.

I think it looks great. I'd like a more in depth description of how the movement has been adapted to power both the moving Earth and the capsule at some point. I assume also it's a little thicker than a standard Speedmaster

looking at the reverse of the watch I would guess the rotating earth is slaved from the constant running seconds hand and the spaceship module is slaved from the chrono seconds hand.

Would assume a slightly thicker movement and subsequently a thicker case.

I think that’s really nice though shame about the price.
Anybody think there will be a chance of a discount in a year or two?

Depends how bad the recession will be.
Could be discounted in 6 mts if the shxx hits the fan.

I have one of these (deposit paid) and it is expected to arrive December/ January. I registered an interest as soon as it was rumoured to be happening. Omega Boutique Lakeside were allocated 3, the MD has one as he is a fellow collector, I have one, and the other could have sold ten times over with deposits taken and they have plenty more wanting to register interest.
I suspect that these will not be discounted anytime soon. Whilst not a limited edition production will be limited because of the different caseback. I also suspect that demand, even at £8,500 will far outstrip supply after all Submariners aren’t a limited edition.

My comment was a bit flippant to be honest but there will be a lot of changing priorities if the job market crashes and things that are oversubscribed can quickly look expensive.
The watch looks fantastic btw so looking forward to seeing the first ones up.

Just can’t see this being a watch that Omega discounts. They will chop the price of all the DSOTM variants and other Speedmaster variants before chopping the price of this one.
