    Where to go for dinner?

So apparently i have been with my lady for one year today (oops)
To mark the occasion she has bought some Michelin Restaurant vouchers

    We have the option of
    Galvin la Chapelle https://galvinrestaurants.com/
    Azou https://www.azou.co.uk/
    Fitzrovia (can't find it)

Does anyone have experience of any of these eateries and would you recommend?

In addition to this, she has asked me to take her up the Shard! :O

Out of the two, I have only been to Galvin La Chapelle (several times in fact!) which is generally a solid Michelin star choice IMO

La Gavroche is better but it probably depends on how much you have in vouchers/want to spend as it is quite a lot more expensive!

If the vouchers cover any Michelin star restaurant then there are loads of choices in London so probably a guide on what sort of food you prefer/want to eat may guide recommendations

Thanks for this, the vouch gave me those 3 options only, but there may be more, let me check the website and see if there is any flex.

Been to Gavin la Chapelle a couple of times - it's ok -solid 1 star Michelin cooking.
Not been to the Azou North African - been to similar e.g Moro.
Fitrovia is a street in the West End parallel to Tottenham Court Road - there are lot of good restaurants there. Roka - Japanese is one of my favourites, Honey and Co is very good, Bao is very good too.
I guess it depends whether you are foodies or not.
Gavroche is ok but food has moved on and they are still cooking the same dishes they were in the 80s and 90s.
You can eat at restaurants in the Shard and enjoy the view - Hutong and Oblix are pretty good.

I agree about Gavroche - it is simply living on it's laurels and best avoided.

I’ve not been to that Galvin but been to two others; I wouldn’t risk a third visit. At best average food at silly prices.
