Thread: Best steakhouse you know?

Another vote here for Mortons, this time in Pittsburgh. I've visited a few so-called excellent steak houses in Chicago, and I am no steak snob at all but Mortons was head and shoulders (and rump) ahead of them.

After what seems like about 17 years of lockdown, not eating out and dreaming of a bloody good steak in a restaurant, my local favourite steakhouse Pasture (I say local as I live in North Devon and Pasture is in Bristol so maybe 100 miles away) is doing a Valentines chateaubriand special.

It’s not cheap but hey we’ve saved a fortune on meals out, coffees, holiday and generally just about everything!

    Looking forward to this:

That looks like a nice treat. Out of interest how much was at a guess £120?

£125 plus £5 delivery. They had a Porterhouse deal last week which was £95 plus delivery I think.

    Looking forward to it :-)

That does look good and you are supporting a business too. Enjoy!

I am a bit more of a cheapskate so a couple of rib eyes, a bag of frozen french fries and a larger bag of spinach for a tenner from our local Aldi does the job for me and the missus.

Squeeze the water by hand from some wilted spinach, stir in loads of butter and grated Parmesan, and it almost takes better than the steak.

St. John's Chophouse in Cambridge which is local to me. It's not the fanciest but I loved it there. They closed down permanently due to covid... a very sad moment
