    Windows 10 update

    I know a fair while ago you could upgrade to windows 10 for free.
    I have a windows 7 retail disc, would i still get the free upgrade.

    Yes you can. I did it a couple of weeks ago on my sister's older PC. HERE'S a link to assist you but if you search for 'update windows 7 to 10 free' or similar you'll find loads of info.

    Take a back up of anything important, when I did the update it resulted in no access to my emails & I had to have an IT chap in to fix it.

    It is possible as stated. Just be aware, that if it is a particularly weedy spec, like an Intel Atom running Windows 7 Starter, you may not end up with a useable machine. On the whole Windows 10 is pretty decent though.

    A Windows oversight which actually has positive benefits!
    That makes a nice change.

    (Sent by someone who is still feeling a bit sore after a recent W10 update spectacularly failed and needed a total re-install to rectify....)
