Post some pics back and front please..otherwise would be difficult to ID
I'm looking for some info on a Baume & Mercier watch I'm considering sellingl but can't find any info regarding model/serial numbers.
Does anyone know if there is a database for them?
The numbers on the case back are 3924 142866
Nothing obvious on the net that I can see though.
Thanks.

Not the best of pics but you get the idea.
If you go to chrono24.com and search for 'Baume & Mercier vintage', you'll get a couple of visually similar models in the results -- perhaps you can find some useful info in their descriptions.
Nice watch.
I would take the advice of looking on chrono 24 and Google images.
Also you could roughly date this from the movement! If you are happy to open it .
From the pics and pushers style I would guess at 50s early 60s .
I do remember a thread on watchuseek with a member who contacted baume requesting more info and the response was they dont have any records but they did give him a rough idea !
Doubt watches of this era even had model numbers.
As said, best bet is to open it up and at least identify the movement. Very similar to other brands (e.g. Zenith) of the '50s/'60s.
The Chrono24 app can scan watches using the phone camera and use the image to identify the model. It might not work because of the vintage, but could be worth a go.

Ok thanks I'll take a look. Seems weird they go to the length of putting numbers on it but they don't refer to anything.
They did mean something when the watch was made. Unfortunately Baume were purchased by new owners and records were destroyed .
If you check my boot sales are back posts i purchased a old West end watch co pocket watch, after contacting them for more info they emailed a reply that all there old records are kept in a museum ,after new owners had a clear out !
They were able to give me a approx date from the markings .
I would contact Baume and see what info they can give you
All the best with the research
Hi Robbo, I don't suppose you still have the contact details of who you spoke to?
