    Edinburgh info please

    Hello fellow TZers,

I’ve been out of the loop for a while and just wondering if you can give me some advice on two topics:

    1. The best AD around Edinburgh to go through for a full service on my Rolex Sub
    2. A good watchman to fix the winding/crown mechanism on my vintage Breitling (AD not required),

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Dave

    1. Hamilton and Inches, feels friendly and a personal experience. Laings is like a supermarket in comparison.

    2. No idea.

Animalone is now at Laings! He has moved back and forward, so based upon this I would choose the easier going, friendly Laings at every opportunity!

Thanks for confirmation. I had actually typed out above that he had moved back to Laings, but then doubted myself (as I thought I was confusing myself with the Noughties). Great when your change of employer means a 100-yard movement across the street!

I've had very pleasant experiences in both establishments. We're lucky to have them.
For the Sub, I suppose it doesn't matter too much, as it will be sent off to the RSC.

Laings would be my suggestion - always had great service for them.

H&I always seems a bit stuffy by comparison whenever I stop by. That said, I’ve no doubt they would do a professional repair service.

It's funny how people perceive the same information, isn't it? I prefer H&I as it's smaller and quieter but I totally get where you're coming from with the stuffy comment.
