Robert Kubica in BMW M4 on the Nürburgring

I can't believe he ignores the tyre pressure warning on the display. Completely irresponsible!

Rarely have I seen anyone attack the ring like that. The speed he carried through some of those corners! Wow.

    That is savage!

I’m not sure I could have handled being the passenger on that lap?

It's always amazing to see someone truly skilled in their field as they make you realise the difference between what the average person can do i.e. me, and what they are capable of. And I agree, Robert Kubica comes across really well. It's been posted before but here's a video of the fastest ever lap of the Nurburgring - 5 mins 20 seconds!!

Kubica vid-Wow that was special! he clearly took the car to its limits the entire time. Must have felt nerve wracking to be the passenger.

You think you are going at the limit...............And then he overtakes!

Once the tyres heated up and the car started to hang on he got very quick, would be good to see him in a fast car

Impressive. Kubica could do with a booster cushion though.

That was a fun video. That M4 looks very tame compared to the new version which has just been unveiled, it makes the old model look classy and conservative!

Amazing! The way the car flows along the track so smoothly and yet so fast...

Imagine what he could do with two working arms!

Those tyre pressure monitors go off to easily. Probably kliped an apex which would set it off. I highly doubt there was any loss of pressure plus they also show what bar the pressure is at on the display.
If it was bad enough I think he would of stopped racing it.

Just watched both of those, that 919 was jus so fast i was holding my breath throughout.

Astonishing turn of speed, it looked as though the film was speeded up.
    Cheers,

    Ben

I always thought Misha was immense around the track but this is another level entirely.

Haha surely you must be joking??? Kubica has seen it all.. and then some.

He's not worried about that tire pressure sensor that was designed to alert the housewife on the school run...

I don't think there is a car built which has ever covered the distance you have in the last hour. Maybe not even a plane. Calm down a bit.

I’ve done a lot of track days over the years and passengered with some rally talented drivers and never feel nervous.

It’s the rookies that make my palms sweat because they rarely feel in control.

Kubica was giving it the full send but was probably at 8/10ths to what he could do if wearing a helmet and there was something competitive at stake. These guys are a different breed.

Phenomenal. A great watch. As a few have said, the levels between elite and amateur in this particular field is incredible. Simply no fear.

It’s the track knowledge that’s most impressive. To make an s-bend look like a straight at those sort of speeds is impressive.

There's an update to this explaining the car and its wear, or lack thereof.

    Stock engine FFS!

    Very impressive.

Great place too, Apex. I got taken round in their 720s by a pro driver. Mega!

Good work. I presume 'stock engine' also means stock gearbox. In the original video I thought there was quite a loud transmission whine?

That was really impressive to see.

As much as I would like to be able to do something like that myself, the reality of it would be me flying off the track at the second or third bend into the trees, with my undercrackers in a very sorry state or repair.

  27. #27
I would say stock because as seen in the video the car's interior has been completely stripped other than adding 2 racing seats so it would be louder than normal inside the car.

I believe it is all stock but bear in mind it has been stripped out with no rear seats, carpet, sound deadening, and done 80k kms of which 30k kms has been hammered round the ring.
