I would have a look on moneysavingexpert website - probably on their forum section - i'm sure this has been discussed there and you should find some useful advice as to previous cases. Good luck!
I have a relative with learning disabilities, but who has full financial control (no power of attorney held by anyone else). Upon finding out that their PayPal send limit was reached, I have found out that this is because they’ve spent £2.5k on Candy Crush in-app purchases. What are the chances of getting a refund? She says she didn’t realise she was paying £99.99, and instead thinking 99p (she is registered blind also). Are Apple likely to act or simply say tough luck?
The spend was incurred between November and April.
£2.5k though! If she were into watches, then that’s almost a Black Bay!!

I’ve heard of this before and refunds have been given. Also worth registering with the bank/ card issuer that the person is vulnerable and on online limit can be set.

It shocking you should be able to spend that much money on a bloody app, sorry I can’t offer any advise however wish you luck getting the money back.
I assume you have now blocked in app purchases from his/her device.
It isn’t as simple as that. They’re still an adult, and I am not the parent. We’ve discussed the consequences and agreed how to handle these things in future - specifically no more Candy Crush. I am worried about the lack of personal control over her bank account, so we will also discuss how to manage finances properly.

Can you associate a prepay credit card with the Apple account so that there’s a hard stop on spending.
