    Makita hedge Trimmer Bargain

I have been looking for an end of season hedge trimmer bargain and found these,

    Makita UH5580 55cm Electric Hedge Trimmer (240v) £79.95 https://www.fastfix.co.uk/makita-uh5...e-trimmer.html

The best price I can find anywhere else is selling these at £179, worth a look if you want some tool based retail therapy.

I have ordered one but never used fast fix before.

A friend of mine bought one of these Stihl cordless ones and swears by it, very light and lasts ages, the only concern I would have is its a integrated battery instead of a clip in out one that is replaceable.

Certainly looks like a good price and Makita make excellent tools.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

I would go with Makita if I wanted a cordless, they do a whole range of tools that use the same batteries. So you only need one charger and a couple batteries.

I’m wanting new trimmers but would love long nose ones to be able to do the whole top in one sweep. Currently have to do both sides of the top

I have the 5.0ah brushless Makita kit and its brilliant, all in I spent over £1k but done a lot of research before hand against all the popular brands and the upper/top end Makita kit come out best, saying that it was a toss up between Makita and Milwaukee..

Don’t know how good the strimmer is, but can certainly vouch for FastFix.
Local to me, and all my guys get their Makita stuff from them

Yep tried a fair few over the years but the Stihl are an excellent range. Got a few in various sizes to cover all jobs and the batteries are interchangeable too.

Hedge cutters need to be petrol, they need to be self sharpening and they need to start at the first pull even after a 12 month period of inactivity. I have one of these with an extension piece and fully commend them to anyone.

I got a “no brand” one from the Aldi mystery middle aisle 6 years ago for £50. Still going strong (touches wood)

I have one of the Makita twin 18v battery ones. I had the batteries from other tools and the trimmer alone was about £80 new. Bargain.
    It is incredible
The 2 batteries together (I use 5 Ah ones) last longer than a tank of petrol, it is lighter than a petrol one and very well made.
    I recommend it totally.
