    Getting Rolex resized in London

    Hi all,

Im getting my (new to me) Rolex Submariner on Wednesday this week and will need to have the bracelet resized. Can anyone recommend anywhere in London that can do this relatively easily and will not make a hash of it?

I was considering heading to the RSC in St James, but not sure if they take walk-ins or even if they are back open now?

    Thanks

Call RSJ but I think they're closed until the end of the month.

Any AD should be able to do it for you but may charge approx £30 for the service.

    ADs may require appointments.

The rolex oyster bracelet must be the easiet bracelet out there for sizing yourself, just purchase yourself a decent screwdriver that will not make a mess of the polished screwheads, such as this one : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Buy a loupe or table magnifier, a 1.8mm screwdriver and leave more links at the 12 o'clock side than the 6 o'clock side to keep the clasp centred. Easy!

    Are they not 1.6mm?
If you have a go yourself, don't forget to warm it first to loosen the locking compound on the threads, some people run it under hot water, some use a naked flame (be careful not to mark it), some the tip of a soldering iron but I use a hobbyists hot air gun (small hairdryer; Mrs B has one for card making). A block to hold the bracelet will help as well.
I took my new 116610 to a large jewellers, the staff member couldn't get the screw out but managed to scratch the link, did it myself after that.

You could call into Wempe as they have a service centre on the 1st floor and I have found them very helpful.

You mght be right. It's been a while and I just had 1.8mm floating around the hollow darkness of my ageing mind

Honestly, get a 1.6mm screwdriver and DIY.
It is insanely easy to do.

Yeah, it is not difficult to do yourself. But if you are nervous, do you have an AD you are familiar with? They may not charge you.
