    Dornbluth Watches

    https://youtu.be/moPHxraLIyA
I saw this video on YouTube & it looked really interesting. I knew the name but not the story behind it.
The idea of a uniquely built watch for sub-Rolex money makes it appealing but how do you go about getting one? I've never seen one in a store. What about servicing etc?
Do any TZers have one, what are they like to own etc
    Thanks,

    Dornbluth Watches

    Many of us own one.

You order directly from Dirk Dornblüth after discussing your wants as the video outlines and then you wait for up to year before your watch is ready. You can then either go and pick it up from the workshop or have it posted to you. I went to get mine and it was fantastic

That looks amazing! I was watching a video about the IWC Portuguese & the Dornbluth was the next video that came on.
It looks amazing & a bespoke piece would outshine a production IWC even before you consider the saving.

They're beautiful things, I had a catalogue and price list, they starteded at bout 3k euros, I just want to see one first somehow before ordering.

a hand written letter accompanied the catalogue, nice touch, costs nothing but speaks volumes.

I have a Dornbluth watch they are a wonderful company to deal with and their watches are a thing of beauty. I think many on the forum (Like myself) by a Dornbluth as a watch to represent something significant as they will engrave it for you. I think they start at closer to 4k Euros and I am not too sure about them being cheaper than an IWC (Depending on what you buy of course) and I do like IWC. I think the difference with Dornbluth is you are buying something that is actually yours, something that has actually been made for you rather than something off the shelf in a dealers.

I've been aware of them for while but I assumed they'd be about £10k. I'm amazed that you can get such a beautiful hand crafted watch like this for the RRP of a Speedmaster.

I was at an IWC event last week where they launched the new Portuguese range. The blue & white dial model was £6,450. I liked it but I think I'd rather put the same amount towards a more individual piece as you say.

I've got a Quintus Klassik. It's amazing - such a high quality look and feel. I've had several people comment on it and ask about it.

Nice watches indeed. Good to see some smaller case sizes starting to appear in the line up. I bought a Kal 04.0 (38mm) a few years ago from Tony and it has been a firm favourite ever since. More about the specific model from a previous TZ-UK post here:

    https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...th-new-arrival

I still retain an interest in their new releases, there’s something about the Dornblüth style that really appeals to me but I’ve never experienced the ‘journey’ of buying new.

It’s quite surprising how few people have heard of the brand (including watch traders with many years under their belts), but to me that just adds to the appeal.

Does anyone have one with the engraved numerals?

My 99.1 being assembled. To echo the sentiments above, Dirk and his team are a pleasure to deal with.

I’ve fancied one of these for a few years now. I like others have mentioned see the appeal that the watch is made for the individual customer.

One thing I did wonder is if all the additional details such as engravings and applied indices for example, add much to the overall cost?

I would probably opt for something relatively simple anyway.

I think applied numerals are a couple of hundred euros more.

    • Hand made
    • Beautiful

    And so on.

I think I've finally found a cure for my Rolex obsession =)

    Thanks guys **Thumbs up**

From one obsession straight into another.

I have to agree though, so appealing

Like these a lot. Have had a catalogue from them in the past and a few that tempered my but no purchase.
