They gave me a sale estimate which appealed, although they take 12% in fees

Tried their site once, didn't sell in the end but their offer seemed like it was certainly too good to be ture. Seems like some sort of SOR arrangement from memory.

I don't mind occasional emails from websites but I got fed up with the number I got from Watchmaster and unsubscribed.
I might click on their site if I was looking for a particular watch and they came up in the results but not otherwise.

Not quite what you posted about but might have some relevance on the chance of the watch selling.

I used them last year and they were pretty good. It was for a direct sale and they paid up within 10 days.

Yes that is correct. They do not offer this on all watches, but they seemed (as everyone else) keen on Rolex watches.

Direct sale was pretty smooth for me but I dont hear great things about their commission service.

They do have some pretty unique stuff at decent prices if you look often tho for a trade in.

anyone used watchmaster to sell a watch

I used chrono Hunter last year. They were very good.
The dealers pay fees. So no bill for yourself and no sale no drama

It’s tricky to swallow but it’s not the worst to pay 12% for a slightly higher sales price, their time for photography and listing, no transaction risk, no dealing with tyre kickers / silly offers etc.

An auction will charge you that and effectively the 25% BP too!

If the net figure is good for you don’t worry about what they make. No affiliation to any dealers!

    Worth checking out subdial.co

They seem to be fairly new into the watch market and their prices are pretty reasonable for buying watches. Worth getting a quote.

Yes a good option too. They gave me the highest buy outright quote, I went with WatchMaster in the end to try and secure a higher sale price thorugh commision.

Did you sell outright, or on commission?
They are now charging 19% commission for prices quoted which I doubt are achievable.
