    Bracelet Swap 116710

As mentioned on other threads, I’m no fan of the PCLs on my GMT 2 BLNR bracelet. I am considering having them brushed, and I know this has been done very successfully by other members. As part of my considerations, a new bracelet is something I’m looking at too. I’m told that the 214270 Explorer bracelet will fit but they cost in excess of £1000 (madness). I’m therefore considering buying an OP 39 bracelet, as they are considerably cheaper. Would anyone be able to tell me if the OP39 bracelet would fit a 116710?? If so, will different spring bars be needed? I know I’ll lose the benefit of easylink and twinlock but hey ho! Thanks guys. Apologies this is not the most exciting query.

97200 Oyster glidelock bracelet is best, and fits the 116710 GMTc. I have this exact setup and I think costs £1,550 still?

As for the explorer 1 bracelet fitting, I'm not so sure as the 97200 bracelet end links didn't fit on my 214270, so best get confirmation the end links are interchangeable first before going the cheaper route.

Thank you for the response! I had seen on some forums that the Explorer 1 bracelet worked but I will re-examine.

Brush the bracelet or get the Sub Bracelet for about £1.5k. Bracelet is almost as sellable as a Sub if you change your mind in future.

That’s good to know...I wasn’t expecting the bracelet to be easily sellable. Appreciate the feedback Wileeeeeey

If I do brush the bracelet, when it comes to eventual sale time, can I restore the factory PCLs without too much hassle? Thanks

Did you try the spring bars from the GMT?

Even when I put my Sub bracelet on my GMT I have to use the GMT spring bars or it won't click in and stay.

I tried both as they are different the GMT bracelet fitted on the OP but there was a little play
I do have a SD4K which I guess would fit the GMT

Thank you so much for trying this out. I really appreciate it. Following everyone’s feedback...I’ve made the decision to send my bracelet off to Gingerboy for a full brushing.

Correct decision IMO - why spend a grand or more when you don’t need to?

My thanks go to you, sir. Your earlier posts / pics on this were the catalyst I needed to take the plunge.

Definitely keen to see the result as I’m weighing up the same possibility on my side so having gone through the answers makes the most sense!

Have a look at learningtofly’s post “to brush or not to brush”. It was a couple of months ago. You’ll find some pics and good info. I’ll also report back on my experience...I posted the bracelet out yesterday so should have it back in a week or so.
