Nobody. It’s a stupidly difficult course where the winner is usually the least over par rather than most under par. Best anyone will do is ‘manage’ the course rather than conquer it.
What you do need at Winged Foot is a great short game so I quite like Webb Simpson at 25/1 each way. He isn’t the longest but that doesn’t matter here, plus he hits lots of fairways. Most importantly his short game is superb.
Very hard to call. Rahm and Johnson in great form and odds stupidly low. Only 1 major between them and wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t add even though they are big favourites. Xander is a great shout I think. Or Justin Thomas.
Greens are apparently running so fast they make Augusta look slow.
If you fancy an English bet, I think Hatton (33-1) and Fitzpatrick (45-1) are the two I'd bet on.
Quite fancy Marc Leishman as well at 150-1 (he's in the top 15 for World Ranking points gained in 2020). Mackenzie Hughes of Canada is my other long shot pick at 125-1. Skybet have Each Way odds for the Top 11.
I wouldn’t put any money on Rory. He has freely admitted he can’t come up with goods with no crowds.
Watching the preview last night, it’s going to be a very tough and unforgiving course. Not sure shooting under par is going to be easy.
Might have a cheeky fiver on Justin Rose.
This is great watching.
Justin Thomas brilliant first day, then collapsed second day. Patrick Reid took over and folded yesterday. Course went from easy to hard over night. Should be a great finish today and looking like there could be a new major winner. Louis or Rory only major winners that realistically could stop that.
