The New Omega Seamaster 300m Diver "James Bond" - guess how much?

Go on, have a guess how mauch Omega are asking for a limited (to 7007 pieces, so not that limited) edition Seamaster?

(Hint - you can buy a standard one for around 4k).

Got a figure in your head?

£5,560 for the "limited" doesn't seem too much.

The set for £33,910 is crazy though.... But it does include a gold version of the watch too and is truly limited at 257 pieces.

How is the steel one same price as the gold??

For that price, I’d want a starting role in the film.

As above, the steel is £5.5k which isn't actually too bad a price.

The 'set' contains two watches both steel watch and gold watch by looks of it, which is £33k - for both.

I think it's lovely! I can't believe they would actually sell 7007 of these things at that price though.

I can’t stand that gun barrel dial. I was looking at the current Seamaster range in Goldsmiths yesterday and although they’re lovely (apart from the obvious and totally unnecessary barnacle at 10 o’clock), at £5.5k they’re massively overpriced.

When you can get a Tudor for virtually half of that out of the same window!

For clarification for those who find it difficult to read or understand-
    Steel, 7007 pieces at 5.5k
Set of stell and gold,257 pieces at 33.9k
    Not my thing though.
This has been out for a while.

I’m frankly bored by the current Omega range and yet I’d still rather wear one than a Rolex that isn’t a Rolex that’s promoted by a footballer.

    This for sure!

I like the watch, I think it looks great in steel, the Bond connection doesn't put me off at all. As for price, considering it has the co-axial master chronometer movement, I don't think it's overpriced. There's plenty of pretentious toot about that's a lot more expensive for no real gain.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

More overpriced “limited edition” garbage from Omega. They make some lovely stuff and then they make a lot of dross. I guess it works for them, and in fairness their sales and customer service are generally lovely. Also the watches you want are fairly easy to get, they operate a first-come-first served on “hot watches” and discounts are usually available. Unlike Rolex.

The watch itself is fine for £5,5k, but I'd have to be a pretty die hard fan to buy a watch based on an association with a film...

Quelle surprise - another limited edition - anniversary watch from Omega.

    Love that comment....

I used to think brand ambassadors didn’t influence my thinking, but in this case it certainly has. And not in a positive way (for the brand)!

The steel one is OK price-wise if you like the design. The gold set seems to be reaching too high..... not sure the value proposition is there. £33K opens the door to a lot of other more interesting options.

Excellent point, for the same price you could have one of these. If you can wait that is.

Which footballer is the brand ambassador for Rolex?

He's referring to Tudor and Beckham.

Purchased last November , love it and wear daily. Ultra comfortable on rubber strap and comes with bracelet also.
Cost £5,220 on launch. Not too bothered by Bond association, just like the mix of materials and colours on the steel watch.

A month ago for just under that you could have had one with a gold bracelet included too. When they introduced the Oysterflex they also gave it some on the pricing too.

I have a feeling this thread was started without knowledge of the fact that the steel version is £5.5k?

Agree, the 'suitcase' two watch set price is ridiculous, but the steel doesn't seem so.

For RRP, I'd want the coffin polisher* to deliver the watch himself.
