    PRS-2 FS on the Bay

PRS-2 Dreadnought for sale on the bay. Good if you've been looking for years but at a v. elevated price.

Frankly that price is ludicrous and highly speculative. I bought mine on Sales Corner last year and I paid an awful lot less than that!

Presumably the seller is trustworthy (seems to have good feedback anyway). But I'd be a bit nervy buying something like that from the US via eBay. If there was any problem with the watch, I imagine it'd all be more awkward. Not to mention the likely import taxes.

Having said that, it is very nice!

The description states: 'nice original pre-owned never polished condition, working well'

It certainly looks as though somebody has had a go at polishing it.

That’s been polished for sure, and why on earth would you do that to a bead blasted case . It’s been ruined.

Isn't bead blasted case easy to renew back to original case finish even if something like this happened?
After bead blasting, marks and scratches, as well as polished surfaces would be as before?

Maybe, but add the price of doing that to the £3.5k that this one would cost you delivered to the UK and you have a stratospheric bill that is at least double what a good one sourced here should cost you!

I think there might be a third, actually.

This one is #21, but #143 is (or was) owned by the self-styled 'Flying Doctor', Dr. Peter McClean Millar, who wrote the Doxa Book. His review of the watch after he bought it identifies that #143 had been fully polished by the previous owner. He seemed to like it...

I can say without fear of contradiction (as it's mine!) that #118 is entirely as Eddie intended!

    PRS-2 FS on the Bay

Mine was originally owned from new by Ming Thein, but purchased from GraniteQuarry, both of this forum.
