    A few days in Kent

Bea and I have just returned home after a lovely few days in Kent - just what I needed, in fact, to wind down after what's proved to have been a stressful few months. We stayed in an Air BnB in Margate but also managed to get around a bit to the surrounding areas. It's really nice there, and would make a rather good retirement spot actually

Anyway, here's a few photos - a mixture of iPhone and compact camera...

    Canterbury

    Broadstairs

    Margate

    Whitstable

    Herne Bay

    Hope you enjoyed them.

Lovely photos of a lovely area. Living in SE London this area is our main get away spot. I found Margate very nice, although we were there during lockdown so barely anything open!

I was raised in Broadstairs, I had to double take to make sure it wasn’t my Uncle in the photo. Nice pics.

Don't tell everyone - the roads are already too busy!

My MIL lives in St Peters so I try to give that area a wide berth.
So many new Retail Sheds and poor roads serving them make the place a nightmare to get in and out in normal times.

Grew up living in Herne Bay, and spent most weekends at the other towns, fantastic to see these & bring back memories of simpler times!

Really must go back and visit myself as haven’t been back there for over 20 years now.

You’d be shocked by the change.

Love the Isle of Thanet - next time you go I recommend you give the ancient town of Sandwich a visit

Maybe I could give it a brush stroke effect in Photoshop and then flog it on eBay as an original!

Funnily enough,Tony, Karen and I rented a cottage in Canterbury a year or two back, literally where that boat is in your first picture.

    Lovely location!

Very nice, Richard! (We made a bit of a boo-boo in Canterbury, as we didn't realise that the cathedral was shutting early - I wouldn't call it a wasted journey, but it'll require another visit!)

Certainly worth a visit just for the cathedral, the history of England is there.
