To keep or not to keep

I am doing a bit of consolidation and am a bit stuck with one as to whether to keep or not?

I have had a couple of good offers so by no means a sales post.

Not a great picture, IWC Mark XVIII titanium casing.

I do like the watch it is light and comfortable but am torn on it.

    Appreciate some thoughts.

Well we don't know what your financial situation is like. Or what the rest of your collection is. How often do you wear it? Is it the loved but unworn oddball of your collection?

I'll join in anyway, keep it.

    Or sell it.

Definitely keep it or sell it.

If you like and you can afford to keep it then do so.
If you have fallen out of love with it or need to get some fast cash then flip it.
    Only you can decide really.

Hi Papa, I did a SOTC a short while ago feel free to check it out for the qualification.

    Also not financial based.

    Thanks for the input anyway.

Cool, I'll trawl through your post history to find that.

I'd sell it and look to upgrade to a Mk XII at some point.

Tony, you might want to explain the qualification in this thread rather than referring people to another thread.

    Just friendly advice.

Hi Simon, thanks for the advice. Will bear that in mind.

To be honest that question wasn’t really related to the rest of the collection. One watch on its own however if someone wanted to make a comment based on the entirety that’s no issue. I could have put a link there too it too.

C'mon Tony, meet us halfway. What's your thought process on this watch?

My thoughts are that if you're even thinking about it then you don't love it so get rid, but then I have different priorities from you. I want to get the core of my collection down to 8 or less, you may be happier with more. I like to have different manufacturers in the box, you might be an IWC buff. You might like to focus on dive watches in which case this is the unworn oddball. A hated ex wife may have given it to you.

What are YOU thinking about? A bit of padding is going to be much more useful in steering you down the right road than your original post.

The fact that you are asking suggests that the watch is for the chop.

    Move it on...

You are right I don’t love it, it was one I loved for ages without having one and then When I got it for some reason just doesn’t live up to .... whatever it is we expect from a watch.

Have a soft spot for titanium and although a bit different from my others is a change from the divers you rightly mention.

No sense in it really, and can’t put my finger on why it’s not hitting the spot.

Get rid then. I know it's not financial but even so it is pointless having that money tied up in a trinket you don't love.

You've got a lot of nice watches in that collection and I think this is just a little uninteresting in comparison to others. I'd sell.

Honestly I find that dial much of a muchness between brands. The case is interesting, but doesn't blow me away.

    Would probably sell.

Just by looking at your very healthy collection, which is very nice btw, I don't think you would miss it.

Thank you, and for everyone’s feedback. Wore it for a couple of weeks to see if it was a keeper but as most of the feedback, it has now gone and I don’t think I will miss it.
