41mm Oyster Perpetual too. Blue dial looks nice.
Sub - all black
Sub Date - black dial green bezel
Sub date not available with black dial and black bezel. Surprised at that.

£350 premium for the Kermit bezel. Did it always come at a premium?
Must say I'm liking the bi-metal Smurf.
And nice to know my Hulk's just gone through the roof.

Yes hulk was always slightly more then the LN
I’m struggling to see the difference between the 40mm and new 41mm Submariners. The pictures make it hard to determine, but is the point by the crown thinner?
I know there have been some comparison photos over the past few days but it’s been unclear if they those leaks are actually true or PS jobs.
Anyone seen lug to lug or case height mentioned anywhere ?
Case height is the unchanged, unsure on lug to lug but would assume minimal with only the 1mm case size increase. Bracelet is up to 21mm giving less of a taper and more balanced look.
Looking at the comparison images between this new release and outgoing, the new model in my eyes is an upgrade at every level from the bloated super case and a welcome return of a more classic Submariner.
Owners of the super case may not agree, the super case has been popular since it’s inception over a decade ago but maybe that was due to what was available from a Rolex rather than sporting a design classic, which I feel the super case departed from to fit a fashion moment of bigger watches.
Whether Rolex felt the Supercase was a bad design it has been clear for the past couple of years that they felt the need to move away from that square look and too create a better profiled watch, which they gave with the upgraded DSSD, Sea dweller etc and now returned the iconic Sub to a more defined classic look.
No doubt sellers at this very moment will be looking to ride the Rolex super case discontinued price jump that follows every discontinued model these days but time will tell if the Supercase retains the desired value or if the return to the classic Rolex with these new releases places the Supercase as a Fashion moment that Rolex was happy to dump.
Is the green bezel on new Kermit darker than the one on Hulk?
Daytona: I'm the star of the Rolex line up
Submariner be like: Hold my beer.
Thought I'd inject a little Rolex fanboi speak.
The size increased will likely make the BB58 line more appealing to more people now. It’s not just the case but the bracelet increase that will make the watch look a lot more bulky. Strange choice.
The new case and wider bracelet is a massive improvement on the previous model.
Doubtless customers who turn up asking to buy one will continue to be laughed at by Rolex AD’s!
For the first time in a long time, I think I’d happily have every single model in the Submariner line up!
It's just a matter of time...
For me, the increase to 41mm with a wider bracelet is a good move, I must admit though, I didn’t think that it would happen.
I’d really like to try the green bezel but would be happy with any of the steel configurations. I will make the usual enquiries at the AD but I don’t hold out much hope. It feels as though these will be more out of reach than ever.
I think the new case is an improvement, rather 41mm than 43mm like the SD went. The slimmer lugs look much better to. It would be nice if Rolex could address the elephant in the room and supply enough watches to ADs so we don't see the new models being listed for 100%+ profit from day 1.
Hulk owners will be celebrating today. Remember when the SDc4000 was discontinued, second hand stocks disappeared over night and prices shot up. It is a strange that people who previously weren't bothered about the Hulk will suddenly be scrambling to find one. If they didn't want one last week, why does this news change things unless it's seen as a sure fire money maker.
Well the difference with the SD is that at the time the SD was less loved compared to the Hulk now. And I'd be pretty sure there are a LOT of Hulks out there compared to SD4000s.
Anyway, onto this Sub. The only positive thing I can say is it looks less tubby. I've always thought Rolex knew this after releasing the ceramic Sub, but would only ever wait till the next planned refresh to correct the proportions.
What is the lug to lug?
It’s just become more bling, bigger head, wider bracelet .... all moving in the wrong direction.
The BB58 looks even more good value now.
How would this affect the price of the outgoing 114060? Would it increase value or decrease?
Thanks,
Adam
I think over time the super case 40 will look smaller and a 41 will be the new super bulk.
I’m happy to have a 114060 over the new one tbh but I will sell for watchfinder money haha
40mm is about the right size for me, but I'd take the 41mm with the slimmer lugs over the previous 'maxi' case model
