    Wireless Mobile Phone Charging cable

I have brought two wireless mobile phone chargers, which are great for the office, as it's both a cradle for your phone and charger. However, the cables have broken on both of them, - they fit poorly in the first place, and bear in mind that I don't move or unplug this gadget, it just sits on my desk, so the quality must be really poor (am I the only one this happens to?!)

Rather than buy yet another entire gadget, I'd like to replace the cable (with a longer one) but I have no idea what the cable is? It looks like some sort of USB, - would someone be able to identify it for me please? Many thanks!

    Difficult w/o a picture.

Could you post a photo of it up please? Usually they are quite a standard cable.

Mostly likely to be micro usb, could possibly be usb c. If I were you I'd just buy a decent quality one as it doesn't sound like yours was the best to begin with.

I have 3 of these. They work a treat.

I've been very pleased with cables from www.juicebitz.co.uk. They also sell their cables on eBay.

If the OP can match the ends of their cable and select the appropriate length that should fit the bill...unless it's the connector in the charger/cradle.

Most of the third party wireless chargers I've had use a cable with USB end to connect to the charger and micro-USB to connect to the wireless charging end. This must be the most ubiquitous charging cable...I think I've got about 50 of these in a bag.

Really, only the newer PD (power delivery) chargers utitlise USB-C.

Lot simpler than years ago when Nokia, Sony, Samsung and the rest had their own chargers and cable.

Without seeing the end going in to the charger, I’d suggest the above.

I’ve just bought a wireless charger. My daughter who works in IT, suggested I buy chargers made by Anker so I’ve just ordered another one.

Definitely. The only thing I get fed up with is that even being mostly an apple user, I still seem to have travel with loads of different leads and chargers for their products. I’ve got an apple watch cable, an ipad cable and an iphone lightning cable then a micro-usb for my non-apple headphones. The sooner apple ditches the lightning cable for usb-c the better.

Both Anker and RavPower chargers are really good. The price of PD and GaN charging technology has come down a lot recently and for £20 you can get decent 60W chargers.

No, only if your phone supports wireless charging. iPhone 8 or later.

You can, or could, buy a wireless charger (copper coil really) that sits on the back of your phone and plugs into the connection socket so allowing wireless charging on older phones.

Out of interest, - what is the charging/data cable that my Samsung Note 8 uses, - it looks like a micro USB, but it's a different size - slightly bigger ?

Yes it is a new standard - very handy as my laptop and phone both use the same charger.

Another vote for Anker stuff - their cables are very good, better in some cases than the Apple ones. Also their wireless chargers are excellent especially the upright ones, double up as a handy stand too rather than being laid flat.
