When I was at work, it was stinking hot. At the weekend or when I had some time off, it was wet and windy. Joy.

Day 22 of my summer leave and guess what? Yep, you got it, it's raining again. Oh and it's only 12 degrees too. That's two days out of 22 where it hasn't rained. Every plan we had, except one, has been cancelled. At least we've been in our own home though. I really feel for those that have spent large sums on a staycation this year. Ten years ago I said I'd never pay to holiday in this country again. If we don't go abroad then we plan day trips or overnighters from the house. That decision has paid off every year.

Next year I fancy renting a villa in northern Spain for three or four weeks of the school holidays, getting a pet passport for the dog and driving down there.

I have been stuck out in Spain since February and thanks to five cancelled air flights will be spending a few more weeks in the ever relentless sun. My car thermometer was showing 38 degrees yesterday and that is bloody hot. I can't walk barefoot outdoors, and I am more or less trapped indoors with every fan whizzing around to keep the place cool.

I am one of the lucky ones with a private pool so I can jump in and out all I want, most hotels have shut their pools down. This place is bloody torture.

I can only dream of a nice cold rain shower. I envy you.

Envy works both ways Mick. I can only dream of being able to make plans for something. We're having my wife's parents round tomorrow for the first time this year and we'll be indoors. I could cut the (soggy) grass to tidy up the garden but what's the point. My youngest is at a friend's birthday party as I type. It's been planned as a BBQ in the garden but obviously that ain't happening. How dare they plan a BBQ in August! It's too late for me at my age but I'm encouraging the kids to get away and set their lives up somewhere else.

A deserted Conwy town centre, the same photo taken today would contain several hundred grockles all rubbing shoulders.

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Walking home after an early shift at the Hospital through an empty Chichester city centre on a Saturday afternoon during lockdown.

I wont lie, I think I preferred it to having to fight my way through today!

Unfortunately this summer involves the pandemic, but that gave me the chance to get a shot I'll never do again with no cars, people (bar 1 who sneaked in), students throwing frisbees, huge marquees full of food or faux heritage tat . . . blah blah blah . . .

Beautiful shot! Spookily, I got almost the same shot last week on our only day out that wasn’t rained off :)

Eventually got a day without rain! Still cold though. Took the dog to the local pub tonight to have an end of holiday pint sitting outside. It was bloody baltic so we didn’t bother and came home for a brew to warm us up. Goodbye summer, you’ve been your usual twatful self.

Pretty much this, it's been lovely. Working mainly from home has also meant more family time than usual, but you can't have everything
