iPhone 11 Pro - Hearing Problem

I can barely hear the Other person on a phone Call and have to press the phone hard against my ear. Volume is on max and don’t have a screen protector or anything else covering the screen. It’s fine through earphones or when I put on speaker.

Anyone had this problem and know a fix? Tried powering down but does nothing.

Phone is less than a year old so assume if I take into Apple store they’ll fix under warranty but no shops close by so hoping to avoid the journey.

Did you tried to adjust volume while on call?

If the software is up to date, then it’s likely to be a hardware fault and you’ll have to take it in to Apple. They will try a repair first, so you’ll be without your phone overnight. Mine had an external speaker fault (11 Pro Max), and Apple replaced the phone after trying to repair it first.

You may be able to send it in for swapping. Try raising a case and speak / chat to them.

is there any fluff in the speaker (gentle prod with wooden top pick?) - maybe worth trying.

Is the issue consistent in both ears?

Have you got a screen protector on the phone - if so try removing it and retry? Seems to be a reported solution on many forums as some protectors cover the speaker. Ignore. I see you don’t have any protector on.

Take it to apple, my older 7 plus did exactly this and the speaker had a fault, they gave me a new phone on the spot

I had this on a 7+ too, I just lived with it but it was very annoying , when I had to replace the screen due to a drop, it came back fixed.
    Cheers..

I had this and it was actually just the speaker was dirty.... couldn’t see it, but it needed blowing out with compressed air

I had this a few years ago on a 7+ and I think they replaced the screen.
