Submariner has become the perfect watch again! They fixed everything that was wrong with 114060.

    Collecting mine on Friday.

PS I have four other six digit Sub’s and I’ve gotta say case/size/bracelet-taper wise, this is by far my favourite, they really have sorted out the ‘blockiness’ of the previous generation....

(Thank God I don’t like what they did with the Dial/Bezel colours of the others or I’d be hoping in vain to change the lot of’em!!)

Green dial OP 41 in my local AD window this afternoon. I imagine it is gone now. I won't spend a penny with them out of principle for how they treated me so I'm not going to divulge the AD and give them a sale but it does show they are turning up.

Perfect. Really well balanced and whilst the changes from the outgoing model are subtle they really make this watch

In terms of size there isnt really much in it, case sizes dont really look that different when next to each other. The bracelet is fractionally larger on the kermit, but prefer the bracelet soze of the hulk. The hulk dial changes depending on light and in some of tge pictures looked identical.

Kermit / Cermit all the way for me. Which one would you pick if you had to only have one of them?

Each to their own, both are lovely watches, and both have the 70hr reserve movements, 3230 and 3235. ;-)

Agreed, good price in the crazy world of Rolex. Thought these would be re-selling for closer to the £15-16k mark (or at least listing for). Similar to something like the CHNR was after release.

The marketing is working! “Only” 3 grand over list. It was another model that, a few short years ago, would languish unwanted in the window of every AD you went past.

I love the fact that the eBay ad specifically identifies the supplying AD who’ll probably get some heat over selling to a flipper.

That’s the exact same AD that consistently treats me like filth when I try and buy a watch that I want to keep! Poetic justice right there.

I’m never sure why Rolex don’t solve the problem by charging a lot more for these models. There must be a reason......

It’s hard to justify hiking up the prices by 50% or more, as simply to catch up with the market price, that would not go down well with customers.

  48. #748
Also, when/if the market falls, they’d be faced with either the embarrassment of a significant price decrease, or a big fall in demand.

Rolex aren’t a public company looking for maximum profit over a year or 5 year cycle; they’re a charity who want to be running waiting lists for steel Daytonas in the year 2050. If that’s your goal, maintaining an aura of desirability and exclusivity (giving people the confidence to buy without much/any depreciation) is a better bet than ‘milking the cow’ with vast price increases or ramping up production.

But as these not the same customers that are keeping the secondary market buoyant by paying the over RRP being asked by every Secondhand dealer.

By definition they are not, if you have the route with an AD, then not going to be buying grey...
