Omega vintage - help to identify

Anyone able to tell me what this is ?

I plan to drop off for service, should the case be polished or left as is?

I have to say I agree. I don’t think Omega made that
    Sorry.

The dial is junk but the rest might be legit. Need more photos

Your watchmaker will be able to tell when the back comes off.

Thank you for the comments, really interesting. It’s not my watch, it’s my friends. Thankfully I can tell the watch maker it may be dubious!

Agreed, but my gut reaction is that the watch is a poor example. If I was asked to work on this I would turn the job down, the watch just looks wrong.

I considered that when I saw it but if you look closely there’s a weird scalloping on the bezel and the lugs are more angular than you’d expect (though that may just be the light). If it is a legit case it’s had a horrible refinish. I think fake or at least non Onega

Just had another look and noticed the scalloping. OP needs to have a tactful conversation with the owner! God knows what’s inside but I’m guessing it isn’t pretty.

Have you got a pic of the inside of the caseback? That would be instructive. The dial is certainly not original but just maybe the rest is.

Even the dial is probably genuine, just poorly repainted and refinished in a style that was ubiquitously Indian about a decade ago apparently. Everything else certainly looks genuine to me and googling, I've found something about the movement from a while back:
