Vintage Lemania Chronograph BMW On eBay

I am not particularly a Military watch person although I do like a few but I came across this one on eBay and it caught my eye because it looks so nice.

It seems to be attracting a lot of interest so I was wondering if anyone had some info as to it's history. and why it seems to be so popular.

Itís quite a common Fleet Air Arm aircrew watch.
The strike through and re number with 0552 NSN is not often seen as most are found with older HS8 markings (navy vs hydrographic survey)
I am guessing the interest is 2 fold. Itís in very good nick. Itís cheap at the moment.
Itís a nice watch. I will be keeping an eye on it

Yeah I guess it will go for a bit more than the current price and I have it my watched item's. It really is a beauty. It's outside my range but certainly something to admire and maybe look for in the future.
