Meaningful name on Spitfire for small charity donation.

Hopefully this is okay to post on here and not crossing the forum fundraiser..

On our local news there was a piece about a Spitfire owner and pilot who is raising money for NHS charities, for a small donation of £10.00 or more you can nominate a name to be hand written on the aircraft, it’s all hand written by the owner’s wife and they think they have room for 80,000 names..

My late Dad loved aviation and the Spitfire was a favourite, the NHS done an amazing job looking after him over the years so I have nominated his name.

That's a great initiative. Looking at the pictures, I can see that the plane is carfully 'wrapped'. Good idea! Repainting it afterwards would be pretty costly as well.

This Spitfire is starting a UK wide tour today, flying past many of our hospitals.

I'm about 5 miles from one of the hospitals so I think I'll try and get over with the DSLR. Never heard one in reality before.

I'm about a mile or 2 from the end of Teeside airport runway, should see and hear it taking off any minute, unless i missed it at 11.20
