Perhaps I deserve to be pilloried and probably burnt at the stake after being hung drawn and quartered -
but I wore my 116610LV to a rocky beach today and went swimming in the sea with it.
Perhaps I can claim leniency on the grounds of putting said watch on a NATO when wearing in the sea. Nevertheless I cannot see how wearing a submariner in such manner can be construed as offensive except to only members of this forum?

I'm telling Rolex...
I am sorry but the biggest crime is putting it on a nato.
I hope you didn’t swim down past 300m Martyn! At 301m I think the nato might have broken!

I stand by you on this one. I wore my Seadweller in the shower today, recklessness!

Why are you not wearing your AP on the beach?!
I concur...
... & it survived

I agree with the earlier poster who said it must be photoshopped. An obvious error is the fact you’ve accidentally ‘shopped it onto the wrong wrist.
If I were you I would be more worried about the bezel alignment police.
They're really strict
Has to be a Chinese fake.
I suspect that the NATO cost more than the watch!
I think we can make allowance for wearing it on a NATO in the sea, this hot weather has certainly affected some, but not taking your strap changing tools and bracelet to swap back over once out of the sea is just reckless, I hope there weren’t many people around. I just don’t know what to say!!!
Ha, the biggest “oh dear” imho is the one where a nice watch has been purchased and never worn !! The old “ I purchase it in 2018 and it’s never been worn just so that I could remain friends with my dealer” ( and also make money on it in two years) ... thats a sin. Wear em you greedy tossers .

That’s not even close to the biggest sin on here, getting the feel for the forum now. Isn’t it having a Rolex at all? Even more so having the wrong one

Everything seems fine to me, the OP is using his watch for the purpose that it was intended for. Bit of a non event to be honest.
Not quite. The biggest crime is wearing a Rolex in the first place. They should be kept in a safe out of direct sunlight and well away from water. That's the only way they'll retain their resale value let alone increase in value.
Delete the photos quick, put it in the safe and hope no one remembers!
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
You reailse that you've given half the forum members a heart attack?? A divers watch getting wet???? How dare you??
85% don't take them out of the safe and of the remaining 15%, 95% are afraid to take them near water, so OP - well done.

It's not one of the holy trinity, so use and abuse it. I'd use it for beach badminton, it'll be fine.
Oh dear oh dear oh dear, how will people ever believe you are a watch collector if you start using them for their intended purpose...

I think a green and black nato would have looked better.
If you have the "ultimate" tool watch you should wear it. I cannot stand safe queens. What is the point?
Isn’t it ironic that it’s a bit of a novelty to see a dive watch in its intended habitat, on the beach! Good on you, I’ve only ever seen 2 of these in the wild and it wasn’t anywhere near water!
Did the other 700,000 beach goers wonder why you were taking pictures of your watch!
Getting some use before it goes on the block?
Good man.
Back in the days I used to wear Rolex...
Needed the NATO so I could attach it to thinks and wear over gear.
Having said that, this was more useful as a tool...

Dive watch worn at beach. Surely fake news.
To ASW1, seeing your Sub resting on your kayak makes me nervous (despite being attached by nato / rope) - illogical given it's not mine and it's a historic photo.
Wore my Daytona most days down the beach the week before last too.

His carer must have had the day off!?
Or the boiler suit with the tie up arms is just out of shot.
Probably reported in the Daily Heil as:
Carer has Day Off in Watery Rolex Horror Shock Probe
Yes I knew it was a joke but can't understand this myth that most Rolex owners cosset their watches, I have worn a Daytona, a GMT11, a 1655 Explorer11, an 39mm Explorer as well as a Sub in the water. I bought a Rolex because it is water proof and I would guess most Rolex owners are just like me.
The reason why Rolex are popular is that you can bash the guts out of them and they come back smiling.
I Have heard of cracked ceramic bezels on the newer sports range! That’s surely got to be an expensive repair.

I think it’s very kind of your AD to allow you to take it out of the shop!
I’m only allowed to go in and look at mine behind the glass at the moment
Great looking watch! Most Daytonas aren't for me, but yours is striking. (Love the rugged good looks on the beach, too, which somehow makes it all the more appealing!)
It always seems to me Rolex is one brand not to be precious about. They wear like iron, and the whole point of the sports models surely is having something you can wear while active. My Dad got his Sub in the 70s and has worn it for years as his daily beater for swimming, diving, travelling, etc. It still looks pristine.
I hope you didn’t get the b&p wet!
