There is limited info at the moment but there is a lot of smoke at the scene and large number of emergency vehicles are present. I hope its not as bad as it looks to be.

I live fairly locally and there's at least one carriage on its roof.

We had over a month's rain in 4 hours this morning and there reports of a landslide and bridge failure nearby.

    This year just gets worse....

    Not looking good at all.

I've done that trip a few times from Glasgow to Aberdeen and there are some pretty remote and inaccessible points on that journey, so it could be a difficult recovery.

As said it was monty thunderstorms all night so would not be surprised slippage onto the track somewhere. There's a load of ambulances blaring up to the hospital too, can hear them on the main ring road.

Looks to be VERY serious indeed. Thoughts are with those involved and their families.
    Best Regards - Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.

Not good, have heard 1 fatality, although not confirmed on the news.
Worked with a lot of guys from Aberdeen the last 13 years.
Hopefully not as bad as it looks.

I've seen some horrible pics, I imagine they'll be out on the web soon.
Also heard that the driver is dead. RIP.

A terrible accident, it killed 3 of the 6 people on board. You can imagine how disastrous this would have been if not for the local lockdown in place.

I travelled on that train many times when living in Aberdeen, a very scenic and now a very tragic route.

Three people dead and six hospitalised according to the BBC.

Thoughts go out to the families who have lost loved ones and those who were hurt.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

I believe there were 12 total on board, but as you said it would have been horrific with multiple dozens dead if a normal day...
